Billy Joe Piearcy

Billy Joe Piearcy passed away with loving family by his side on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the age of 89 years. Billy was born on October 19, 1931 in Olney, OK to his parents, Joseph and Jewel (Cothran) Piearcy. He grew up on a farm in Olney where he also graduated high school. One of his favorite things to do with his friends is play basketball.

Billy joined the National Guard in 1950. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and was deployed immediately. He served in the Korean War 1950-1952 in the artillery division which ultimately cost him his hearing.

He met the love of his life, Cleta Williams in 1952 after the Korean War. They were married 68 years. He spent the majority of his time working in the oil patch and water services prior to being called to ministry in early 1960's. He started bible seminary studies and got his missionary license and became an ordained minister. He raised three children, (Debbie, Joy and Tim) while starting his career in ministry. The family always got together in large gatherings for Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Billy worked as a pastor for numerous churches, led various revivals, preached in churches, prisons, hospitals, tent revivals and street corners. Some of his favorite things to do were watch OU football, Oklahoma City Thunder basketball, listening to gospel music, lawn and garden work, dogs, reading the bible and being a prayer warrior. He loved watching westerns like Gunsmoke, Bonanza, etc.

He was all about family, ministry and serving others, and he left a legacy of love and serving Christ. He was always humble and kind, loved God, family, and people.

He is preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Jewel (Cothran) Piearcy, his brother C.D. Piearcy and his sisters, Ruby Brown and Ollie Laner.

Billy leaves many loving memories with his family, wife Cleta Piearcy of 68 years; children; Debbie Davis and Billy Helton of Homing, Oklahoma, Joy and Jeff Wooten of Jenks, Oklahoma, Tim and Jesika Piearcy of Tulsa, Oklahoma, 11 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren, and brothers Gomer Piearcy and Piearcy, both of California, along with many other loving relatives and a host of friends.

Public Viewing/Visitation will be held 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM Sunday, May 23, 2021 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel.

Funeral Service will be held 2:00 PM May 24, 2021 at Schaudt's Glenpool Funeral Service Chapel, (719 East 141st Street,Glenpool, Oklahoma).
