Betty Jo Thompson

Betty Jo Thompson passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 with her family by her side. She spent 80 wonderful years with her loving family.

Betty was born March 3, 1938 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was one of eight children to Nora Ellen (Daniels) Johnson and Rufus Tandy Johnson.

She attended Roosevelt's School, Tulsa, Oklahoma.

In 1968 she married the love of her life, Robert Thompson in Oklahoma City.

Betty enjoyed going to garage sale and thrift stores. She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She often watch Lifetime movies with them on Sunday's and always enjoyed treating them to "cream boy". Betty had a fun, witty and loving personality. She was always making jokes and could often be found dancing around to Elvis.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Thompson; son, Jerry Lancaster; parents, Nora Ellen (Daniels) and Rufus Johnson; three grandchildren, Chane, Kayetie and Rebeika; and three siblings, June, Ronnie and John.

Survivors include one daughter, Robin Miller and her husband, Matt (son); two sons, Larry Powell and Donald Powell; eight grandchildren, Melissa, Tiffany, Kayleigh, Dustin, Shanel, Tuffy, Megan and Stacey and nine great-grandchildren. She also leaves three sisters, Erma Burkhart, Sharon Pendergrass and Carolyn Auten and one brother, Bill Johnson.

In Lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Betty to the Alzheimer's Association Oklahoma Chapter; 2448 E. 81st St. #3000, Tulsa, OK 74137.
