Barbara Jean Riffel

September 4, 1939 — July 23, 2023

The woman, the myth, the legend.

Barb was an extraordinary woman, full of vigor and zest for live. She traveled the world, took beautiful and important historical photos (including Elvis during his enlistment), led unions, fought the patriarchy, lived all over the USA, and annoyed the ever-living hell out of my mom, who in the end herself, could not resist the magnetic charm that Barb possessed.

She was kind, generous, adventurous, and sometimes wildly inappropriate. But she was loved and loved many, many others. She gave a lot to whatever she did and to whoever needed help. She'd help you move, buy you dinner, or probably fistfight that asshole you had an issue with.

She was a big part of my life, and though she sometimes made me livid, I am grateful for her love and time and constant support. She was a wonderful grandma, she made sure my boys had many extra experiences, things I wouldn't have taken them to, monster truck rallies, rodeos, and she even got me to go ice tubing with them in OKC.

She will always be with us in all the experiences she gave us.

We love her.
