Avery Nicole Davis

Avery Nicole Davis was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on February 4th, 2005. She died at 16 years old on September 27, 2021 due to injuries sustained in a car accident.


Avery enjoyed playing pranks on her brothers and considered her sister one of her dearest friends. She loved spending time with her family and friends. Avery could turn even the most mundane errand into a fun adventure. She was witty and always willing to act goofy. She loved to laugh and have fun, and her silliness was contagious. Avery appreciated nature's beauty. She had an artistic mind and was able to see the intricate details in flower petals, bird feathers, cloud shapes and star constellations. Avery loved all animals (except hermit crabs) and outdoor activities; such as hunting and fishing. Avery was active in her church's youth group and enjoyed attending church with her family.

Like most 16 year old girls, Avery loved her peers. She was easily annoyed by her parents, and she was trying to make her own place in this world. She giggled over boys, sang her favorite songs at the top of her lungs, and laughed hysterically at the smallest things. She was passionate, determined, and unafraid. Avery was beautifully fierce. She stood up for her beliefs fiercely, she made her voice known fiercely, she was fiercely loyal and she laughed and she loved fiercely.

During Avery's final hours, she asked many tough questions. While she struggled to understand why she was given this trial, she never wavered in her faith. Avery understood that God was with her and that he would never leave her. 2 Corinthians 1:7 says, "Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort." Avery remained comforted by the promises of God. She faced a trial that most cannot comprehend and her faith remained unshaken. While it is nearly impossible for us to reconcile a life lost so soon, Avery would want us to trust that her life played out exactly as God meant for it to. He knew the number of her days before she was born. Avery would want us to seek comfort in God's promises. She was knit together and created in God's image. We can rest in the knowledge that His will for her life was perfectly completed.


Avery is preceded in death by her brother, Dakota Austin Davis.

She is survived by her parents, Guy Davis and April Tollette; four brothers, Chris, Cody, Benjamin, Joshua; a sister, Grace. Grandparents, Mike Reagan, Dale and Gail Lewis along with several members of her extended family.
