Alice Joan Ripley

July 4, 1928 — August 13, 2018

Born on July 4, 1928 in Covington, Ohio to Glenna Frances Wolfe and Raymond Theodore Wenrick, Alice Joan “Jo” Ripley passed away suddenly on August 13, 2018 while residing in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma.

She graduated from London High School in London, Ohio in 1946 and from The Ohio State University with a fine arts degree in 1950, where she met her husband, Joseph Marion Ripley, d. 1999. During 48 years of marriage, the two resided in Columbus (Ohio), Carbondale (Illinois), Madison (Wisconsin), Lexington (Kentucky), Accra (Ghana) and Casselberry (Florida).

Jo was a devoted wife and mother of Jeri Joanne Ripley King, Joseph Marion Ripley, and Jonathan Theodore Ripley, all of whom survive her. She was the proud grandmother of Jennifer and Michael Ripley, and of Alexander, Kristina, and Kathryn Ripley. She adored her daughters-in-law, Margaret and Aekyung Ripley, and her son-in-law Edward David King.

When she could, she loved bowling, playing bridge and golfing with her friends, working in her yard, playing the piano, and creating household artwork.

She is sorely missed by all those she loved, and who loved her. Her remains will be laid to rest next to her husband in Bushnell National Cemetery in Florida.
