Wesley Nathaniel Hawthorne

Wesley "Wes" Nathaniel Hawthorne, died on Thursday, March 23, 2017 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born September 28, 1959 in Clinton , Arkansas to Leo and Mary (Harmon) Hawthorne. He attended elementary school in Clinton, AR. He graduated from Webster High School, Tulsa, OK, in 1978. He married Mary (Martin) Hawthorne in May of 2001 at Mayfest in Tulsa, OK. Wes retired from Sundance Trash Services as an owner after being in the refuse business for almost 30 years. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy, as a diver in the submarine service, 1980-1985, during the Cold War. He loved motorcycles, fun and was a true daredevil. He was a very giving man. He was a devoted husband, father, "Gramps" and son. He made friends wherever he went.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Mary (Harmon) Hawthorne. Survivors include wife, Mary (Martin) Hawthorne of Tulsa, OK; father, Leo Hawthorne of Bristow, OK; stepdaughter, Aubrey Clark and husband, Chris or Elk City, OK; granddaughter, Rhiannon Clark; sisters, Teresa Hunter of Bristow, OK, Virginia Shumar of Tombell, TX, and Angela Flippo and husband, Donnie of Midland, TX; many nieces, nephews, and cousin; and many, many friends. He will be greatly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, April 1, 2017, 1:00pm at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service, 5757 S. Memorial Dr., Tulsa, OK 74145 with a reception to follow at Ti Amo Ristorante Italiano, 6024 S Sheridan Rd A, Tulsa, OK 74145. In Lieu of flowers, please donate to a Veteran's group of your choice or to Good Shepherd Hospice.
