Verlin Dean Whorton

Verlin Dean Whorton of Jenks, Oklahoma, passed away on Friday, August 11, 2017, at Ranch Terrace Nursing Home in Sapulpa, Oklahoma, at the age of 81.

Verlin was born in Kingston, Arkansas, on July 23, 1936 to the late Mary Earl (King) Whorton and Paul Baxter Whorton. He worked as a brakeman for Burlington Northern Railroad.

Verlin is preceded in death by his wife; Peggy Whorton, parents; Mary and Paul Whorton, and sister; Charlene Viney.

He is survived by his children; Pat Whorton, Michelle Parmiter and her husband Jeffrey, grandchildren; Paige Luetjen and her husband Derrick, Jace Parmiter, and other loving extended family and friends.

A Memorial Service will be held at 4:00 PM on Saturday, August 19, 2017, at River Oaks Christian Church, 300 N. Elm Street, Jenks, Oklahoma 74037. Reverend Harold Phillips will officiate.
