Thomas Aaron Bledsoe

Thomas Aaron Bledsoe, better known as Bro. Tom or Papa, 84, died peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, May 13, 2017 in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. He was born October 27, 1932 in Delano, California to Artie and Tressie Julia (Couch) Bledsoe. He was the second of three children.
Thomas married the love of his life, JoAnn Cone Bledsoe, on August 1, 1953 in Honolulu, Hawaii. He was a proud veteran of the U.S. Navy and Air Force, serving his country for over 20 years. After retirement from the military, he and his family moved from Anchorage, Alaska to Ft. Smith, Arkansas, to be close to family. He then attended Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Ft. Worth, Texas, and began his ministry as a pastor. He had the privilege of serving as Pastor at Golden Hills Baptist Church, Manger Baptist and Suncrest Baptist. He enjoyed traveling with the senior adults from church and golfing. He loved children and had a great sense of humor. Tom volunteered after retirement with Meals on Wheels and assisted in caring for widows through FBC Broken Arrow.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Art Bledsoe and Tressie Rowe; and granddaughter, Rebekah Jamieson.
Survivors include his wife, JoAnn Cone Bledsoe; daughters, Vickii Bledsoe Irons and Christine Bledsoe Jamieson; 5 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Tuesday, May 16, 6:00PM-8:00PM, with family present at Schaudt's Tulsa Funeral Service. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, 11:00AM at First Baptist Church of Broken Arrow with interment to follow at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.
