Marjorie Marie Halseth

Marjorie ‘Marg’ Marie Halseth (Fastrup), age 96, passed away on February 13, 2018 at University Village in Tulsa OK.

Marg was born in Irene SD on August 23, 1921 to Roy and Mabel Fastrup. Marg went to nursing school in Watertown SD and graduated in 1939. On April 21 1945 she married Rolland ‘Rollie’ Halseth in Pipestone, MN. Marg and Rollie lived in Madison SD where she worked as a nurse at the local hospital. In 1962 they moved from Madison to Sioux Falls SD. Due to Rollie’s career, they lived in several upper Midwest towns. Throughout these moves, Marg always used her nursing degree to help others. When Rollie retired, they settled back in Sioux Falls SD. Marg and Rollie moved from Sioux Falls to University Village in Tulsa OK in 2006. Marg enjoyed gardening, traveling, playing cards, quilting, reading and being with family and friends.

She is preceded in death by husband Rolland Halseth, Brothers Clarence, Milton, Robert and parents Roy and Mabel Fastrup.

Marg is survived by daughters, Elaine (Dave) Speare of Grand Forks ND, Janice (Ken) Grabow of Tulsa OK, and Susan (Bob) Mellett of Minneapolis MN. 5 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and Sister Ann Rath of Pierre SD.

Burial will be at Lake Madison Lutheran Church, Madison SD later this summer.
